damn the big companies! Arghh, I hate them so much. I just heard that DoJ are going to stop attempting to break up MS because Dubya (gahhh) said so. *feels like punching people*. They also have tons of coke machines at my school, but at my workplace, they have pepsi. I don't drink the pepsi either, though, I drink a local one called Faxe Kondi (faxe is the brewery, kondi means fitness, sorta). Ramblin' on, I am. I started making music again, and it's really noisy and crappy, but if any of you want to check it out, here it is: Noisy and Another Track v2. I'd appreciate any feedback.

That coke machine story is horrible.
Speaking of coca-cola, they are a major sponsor of my university. I was rather angry to hear this. There are coke machines everywhere, full price to boot. We used to have a Taco Time (a fast food joint I love), but they're owned by Pepsi, so they had to shut down. Bastard coca-cola, scourge of the earth.
I should walk around campus in a pepsi shirt or something, just to piss off coca-cola.
Wait, no one would care. *cries*

wow.
that Danmed site is scary.
i searched my TypedURLs directories and found old messages i wrote in hotmail, URLs i typed into Internet Explorer and thought i had deleted out of History long ago, and searches i did all hidden away in folders only accessible by entering DOS mode.

ANYbody using MS Internet Explorer or Outlook should go to the site that alex recommended:

The real evil of coca-cola.

Hrm, to reiterate, I mean to take a sound and stretch it without repeating it. During the stretch or at the end you would be able to make it "stutter," or repeat a part of the sound in "chunks" at defined intervals. I can make the sound with my voice. It's very hard to describe.
I'll just go with the "huge noise" concept. VERY hard to make without a lot of players with you.

For the software plug in thing, I think a good one would be enabling you to "stretch" sound like a rubber band. Uh, what I'm getting at is hard to describe, so I'll just shut up about that.
Though I find it hard to think about making a whole song on computer. I can understand doing a few things and say mixing/splicing on the computer, but a whole song? I myself would need actual contact with the instruments. Movement and vibration that goes through my whole body.
Maybe I'm just weird.

If I could have any feature in such a package (and I do not have such a package), it'd be some sort of "instant massive" feature, that made everything sound as massive as the copy of "slave to the rhythm" by Grace Jones that I got this weekend in the HMV sale for £6.99.* I mean one can get stuff on even the puniest of today's computers to match the synclaviers and stuff they had back then in 1985, but things still sound like they are recorded at home.

Actually thinking about it maybe it's the lack of shit-hot session musicians, amazing live rooms and seasoned engineers with miking techniques etc. that actually made the difference...so actually a button (called 'perspective'?) that stopped you working and suggested a bunch of records that you should listen to in detail to get some sonic inspiration would be the thing.

* n.b. not all of this album is great, but the actual track "Slave to the Rhythm" which is the last one on the LP is a sonic equvalent to the way The Face or Zoom magazine looked in the mid '80's, or Keith Haring and Basquiat stuff, Vanity Fair and all that. Very nice and opulent and indulgent-soaked and not-at-all reminding you of the 4 million unemployed who were also knocking about at the time! I was only 14 then mind you, and used to listen to medium wave radio and groove with my zx spectrum...(continued on page 4097)

If you were able to have any feature you wanted in an audio editing tool like Sound Forge or Pro Tools, what would it be?
